Anti-Wrinkle Injections

Frequently asked questions

What are anti-wrinkle injections?

Wrinkle relaxing injections with Botulinum Toxin are still the most popular cosmetic procedure for both men and women at The Aesthetics Group. They provide a safe, fast and trustworthy solution for fine lines and wrinkles with practically no downtime, creating a youthful, relaxed appearance. Using your facial muscles to laugh, smile or even frown causes your skin to crease. As you get older your skin loses its elasticity due to various factors making those creases remain static and deepen over time. By temporarily relaxing the muscles you use to make these facial expressions, these lines can become smoother and softer, restoring a more youthful face.

What treatments can I have?

Most commonly used on forehead lines, frown lines and crow’s feet. However other areas and conditions can be treated very effectively which we can discuss further at your bespoke consultation. A small amount of botulinum toxin is injected in the targeted muscle using a small needle. Topical anaesthetic cream is not usually required prior to injections as there is minimal discomfort. The results of the treatment begin to appear from 1-2 weeks and last on average 2-4 months. Individual results may vary. As treatment effects begin to fade, the treated area will gradually return to its former state.

Are there any side effects or risks?

Anti-wrinkle injections are established as being very safe and effective having a reliable long track record in facial aesthetics. Possible side effects may include slight bruising and swelling at the injection sites and in rare cases, temporary eyelid drooping.
